The two hotels are just few blocks from each other. Although most of the conference will take place at the Universidad de las Americas Puebla, some events will be held at the hotels. Rates and Tax Waiver for Foreign Nationals

The conference rate at both hotels is 1,000 pesos. Due to a very favorable exchange rate for the US dollar, in early March this was only US$80 a night.

Non-Mexican nationals: You can have Mexico's 16% VAT tax on your hotel bill waived when staying at one of these two official conference hotels, by doing the following:

  1. When checking in, present your foreign passport and your immigration form (the hotel will need to photocopy both);
  2. Pay with a foreign credit card;
  3. Fill out the tax waiver form the hotel will provide you. You will then be charged only a 2% local tax on your hotel bill

Traveling to Puebla

There are two main ways to travel to Puebla:

  • Puebla Main Square and CathedralFlying into Mexico City Airport. There are many national and international flights to Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City (airport code MEX). From Mexico City International Airport, buses depart to Puebla every half hour, with service almost 24 hours a day (you don't have to leave the airport). The bus fare is currently 184 pesos (about US$12.00). Travel time between Mexico City and Puebla by bus is about 2 hours. Buses arrive at Puebla's main terminal in the northwest sector of the city or in a stop further south, which is closer to Puebla's Historic District. Any of these bus terminals offer an official Taxi service to any place in Puebla Metropolitan area. It is recommended to use this official service instead of catching a taxi on the street.
  • Flying into Puebla City Airport. There are a few domestic and international flights to Hermanos Serdan International Airport in Puebla (airport code PBC). Some times these flights connect via Mexico City Airport. You can take into consideration for your final decision the cost of flights and the availability of the bus service from Mexico City Airport to Puebla. The airport is located outside of the metropolitan area. The easiest way to go from the airport to your destination in Puebla is to take one of the official taxis at the airport. There is also a shuttle to a terminal close to the historic district, and then you will have to take a taxi from the bus terminal to your hotel.
